NYC Runs Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon

At The Isla Jade Foundation, we support families after the loss of a baby by ensuring they are given something every family deserves but not every family receives: time.

Our primary work focuses on placing Caring Cradles in hospitals. These devices allow families to spend meaningful, unrushed time with their baby after loss, offering space for bonding, memory-making, and saying goodbye with dignity.

To date, The Isla Jade Foundation has placed five Caring Cradles across four hospital locations in New York, California, and Pennsylvania, conservatively supporting an estimated 110 to 140 bereaved families each year, with hundreds more supported over the lifetime of each cradle.

Yet access to this care is not equal.

Many hospitals, especially those serving underfunded or underserved communities, simply do not have the resources to purchase Caring Cradles, even when the need is frequent and profound. Too often, a family’s experience of loss is shaped not by compassion, but by budget constraints or geography.

We fundraise to change that.

By running the NYC Runs Brooklyn Half Marathon in support of The Isla Jade Foundation, our community is helping expand access to bereavement care nationwide. Every dollar raised helps place Caring Cradles in hospitals with grave need, ensuring families can say goodbye without rushing, no matter where they deliver.

Grief does not follow a timeline. Families deserve time, dignity, and compassionate care in every hospital, everywhere.
